Meet Dr. Sherman

Irvin B. Sherman - Pediatric Dentist & Orthodontics - Avon by the Sea, Bradley Beach & Belmar, NJDr. Sherman was born in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from the McBurney High School in New York City in 1963.  Dr. Sherman went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Louisville in 1967.  He followed this program by completing a Master of Science Degree in Microbiochemistry in 1968.  He then attended the top ranked dental school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and received his DDS Degree in 1972.  Dr. Sherman was then recruited by several graduate programs in Pediatric Dentistry and finally received a full scholarship at the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, completing a Master of Science Degree in Pediatric Dentistry in 1974.

In 1976, Dr. Sherman established his own private practice in Pediatric Dentistry in East Brunswick, NJ.  It became one of the premier pediatric dental practices in Middlesex County

Dr. Sherman and his family recently moved to the Jersey Shore and have enjoyed living a life closer to the beach.  Dr. Sherman then decided that it would be a great idea to establish a new pediatric and orthodontic practice closer to his home.  In September of 2010, Dr. Sherman opened a new practice, called SHORE CHILDREN'S DENTAL CARE, in Avon by the Sea, NJ.  Dr. Sherman brings his 35 years of experience, expertise and caring methods of treatment to infants, children, teens and the special needs patient.  This is a very exciting time for Dr. Sherman, his staff and family.

Dr. Sherman with Milana - Pediatric Dentist & Orthodontics - Avon by the Sea, Bradley Beach & Belmar, NJSince 1979, Dr. Sherman has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.  He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the New Jersey Society of Dentistry for Children, the American Academy of Hospital Dentistry, the American Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped, the American Association of Orthodontists, Middlesex County Dental Society, the Monmouth/Ocean Dental Society and several other organizations.

Serving the broader community since 1976, Dr. Sherman has been an active attending pediatric dentist at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St. Peter's University Hospital, both in New Brunswick, NJ.  Dr. Sherman has also been Chief of Pediatric Dentistry at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital since 1980.  Among academia, he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at the Rutgers Medical School, since 1980. Dr. Sherman is also an attending pediatric dentist at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Dr. Sherman has also lectured extensively over the last 30 years on all aspects of Pediatric Dentistry. 

Dr. Sherman's hobby and passion for the last 30 years was been auto racing, both on an amateur and professional level.  He has instructed for the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America), the Northern NJ BMW Club and other sports car clubs.  Since retiring from active racing, Dr. Sherman has been restoring cars of many vintages.

Dr. JeffriesDr. Jocelyn Jeffries-Bruno: Associate

Dr. Jocelyn Jeffries-Bruno is an associate of Shore Children's Dental Care. She graduated from Penn State University with a BS in general science and a minor in business in 1999. She then went onto New York University College of Dentistry and graduated in 2007. She was the recipient of 8 awards and honorariums including; NYCUD Presidents award, Doctor Alexander and Sylvia Goldenberg Award, American Association of Public Health Dentistry Award, Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Restorative Dentistry, New York State Dental Foundation Award and the ADEA Preventative Dentistry Award. Dr. Jeffries-Bruno earned her Pediatric Specialty in 2009 at Jacobi Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident and is board certified, a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is currently on staff at Jersey Shore Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center. Dr. Jeffries-Bruno is a trustee of the Monmouth Ocean County Dental Society (MOCDS), and members of the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the New Jersey Association of Pediatric Dentistry (NJAPD) and the American Dental Association (ADA).

Dr. Jeffries-Bruno is married to a Nephrologist who practices Monmouth and Ocean Counties with Jersey Nephrology and Hypertension Associates. They have beautiful twin girls who keep them very busy at home.



Dr. KearnsBritni L. Kearns DMD

Dr. Kearns is overjoyed to join the Shore Children's Dental Care staff. She is also equally excited about establishing a relationship of trust with your family. Dr. Kearns promises to treat your children the same way she would treat her children and shares the goal of Shore Children's Dental Care - to provide a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for the entire family.

Dr. Kearns graduated magna cum laude from LaSalle University with a bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in nutrition. She then pursued her dental degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark, New Jersey. At Rutgers she graduated top of her class and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an esteemed national dental honor society that recognizes not only academics, but character as well. Dr. Kearns then continued her pediatric specialty training education as Chief Resident at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. There she spent two years treating infants, children and adolescents, as well as those with special needs. Playing an intricate role in the hospital's emergency and trauma department, she gained valuable experience in treating children under conscious sedation and general anesthesia.

Dr. Kearns spends most of her free time with her husband, Will, and their three beautiful daughters. Together they enjoy training in mixed martial arts, biking the local community, traveling and taking in all the fun things the Jersey shore has to offer. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (NJAPD), and the American Dental Association (ADA).

She looks forward to working with you, the parents, and alleviating your concerns by delivering a comfortable, positive dental experience for your children. She vows to continue educating your family on the importance of oral health, setting a strong foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.



Dr. PaperthFrederic Paperth, DMD

Dr. Paperth was raised in Manasquan and graduated from Manasquan Grammar and High Schools. Having a father who also practiced dentistry in Manasquan for many years, Dr. Fred, as addressed by his patients, was exposed to and became interested in dentistry early on. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Drew University, and his Dental Degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he was recipient of the American Society of Dentistry for Children awards in Pediatric Dentistry. He went on to complete his specialty Certificate from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and has practiced Pediatric Dentistry in Manasquan for many years.

Dr. Fred is a member of the American Dental Association, the Monmouth Ocean County Dental Society, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Association of Special Care Dentistry. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and a Diplomat of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. Dr. Fred is on staff at Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he is the Program Director of the General Practice Residency Program in Dentistry.

Dr. Fred enjoys working with children and is excited to become associated with Shore Children's Dental Care. He lives is Point Pleasant with his wife, Denise, who recently retired from teaching at Manasquan High School. They have one son who works in the film industry.



Dr. Tesoriero Jason V. Tesoriero, DDS

Dr. Jason V. Tesoriero was raised in Staten Island, New York, but has recently settled into his new home in Middletown, NJ. He graduated Cum Laude from Binghamton University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2009. During his time at Binghamton, he served as a volunteer EMT for the campus as well the local community. He also volunteered as a dental assistant for a local dentist in Binghamton, which introduced him to the field of dentistry.

He graduated Cum Laude from New York University College of Dentistry in 2014. At NYU, he participated in a pediatric dental honors program, where his passion for treating children began. He then served as Chief Resident during his two-year pediatric dental residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. During his residency, he gained invaluable experience treating children of all ages in both hospital and office settings. He developed skills in treating children with special needs at the Rose F. Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.

During his free time, Dr. Jason enjoys fishing, hiking, rooting on NY sports teams, and traveling/exploring new places with his wife, Christina. He loves to keep children smiling with his compassion and sense of humor. He is proud to be part of the team at Shore Children's Dental Care!



Dr. Mani Manjote Dhaliwal, DDS

Dr. Manjote Dhaliwal, or better known to her patients as Dr. Mani, is ecstatic to join the Shore Children's dental care team. Children's dentistry is a whole different world, they are not just "little adults" but unique charismatic superstars, like skittles! All different colors bursting with fun! Dr. Mani loves interacting with her pediatric patients and their parents. She loves providing them with entertainment and distraction, to get them laughing and relaxed during their visit. Her goal is to make their visit comfortable-even fun! She thanks you for coming to the office and trusting her to care for your little one's oral heath.

Dr. Mani attended New York University for her undergraduate degree, and then attended dental school at New York University College of Dentistry. This was followed by a pediatric dental residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Mani is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the College of Diplomates, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Dental Association.

During her free time, Dr. Mani loves spending time with her family and her precious dog, Cheerio. She also enjoys creating pottery, exercising, traveling and most importantly, rooting for her Chicago sports teams. Go Cubbies and Blackhawks! Dr. Mani looks forward to forming a lasting, fun relationship for your child as they grow and transition into adulthood, ready to take on the world!



Dr. GrossShira Gross, DDS

Dr. Shira Gross is a general dentistry associate at Shore Children’s Dental Care. She looks forward to caring for your child’s dental needs as they grow into adulthood as well as caring for the entire family.

After graduating Cum Laude with a bachelor of science from Adelphi University, she attended New York University College of Dentistry to receive her DDS degree. While at NYU, Dr. Gross had the unique opportunity to participate in an Honors in Special Patient Care program where she treated the medically compromised and special needs population.

Following her graduation from NYU, Dr. Gross accepted a residency position at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. There she continued her interest in general dentistry, serving the local community while learning cutting edge techniques. While at Monmouth Medical Center, she continued pursuing her passion for special needs dentistry. She is an active member of Monmouth Ocean County Dental Society, as well as the ADA.

Dr. Gross lives in Lakewood, N.J. When not caring for patients and learning about dentistry, she spends her free time with her family and at the Jersey Shore. She also enjoys playing the piano, and travel.
